I'm not rambling on about science today...Well, apart from the fact I really want to know the electron configuration of Francium so I can include something *quite clever* in my chemistry assignment...

The weekend starts here, and I am going to York for the day & to stay overnight on Saturday, and will probably spend the entire journey there doing coursework. I'm sad like that, you see.

I've not really watched much of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! this season, but the bits that I have bothered watching have been Rubbish with a capital R. There's been hardly any good bits that they have bothered to show us.

Yey! John & Sinead Kerr (Murrayfield FSC) are the first dance team from GBR to skate at the Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final, this season, and they could very well medal. And the certainly deserve it. They are in 4th place after the Original Dance...Just fractions of a point out of 3rd...

Whilst I'm on the subject of skating...Here are the first results from Tokyo:

Senior ladies & Men/Junior ladies & dance: Still awaiting result

Personally, I'm unsurprised with the current senior pairs result, but I am soooo rooting for John & Sinead in Dance. They are fractions of a point out of 3rd after the original dance...

I will try & post the rest of the results on Monday (when I'm back in College)

It's not perfect, I'm not quite sure I've worked out how to work it...

So. Rates of reaction, anyone??? Nope. Me either. Confusing.

So, what else? I'm becoming more, and more, and more addicted to twitter. The proof is that I'm still posting @ 3 in the morning, when I'm supposed to be in bed. And that I have just added a twitter add-on to my blog...

College was pretty good today...Afternoon was boring though. Have to do English supplementary classes. But they're on the computer, so I normally escape to Twitter. Used to be Facebook, but college has had it blocked again. Probably because of people like me.

The chemistry tutor shouted at us all today because we were being too loud, and a friend and I ended up staying behind for ten minutes after class to talk to the tutor about why we thought it was a bad thing for people to shout over everyone else. Still, we had nothing else to do, so...yeah...Ha!

In other news...Is there any? Apart from the conversation I had on Twitter, there's not much going on...I've decided I'm doing no christmas shopping until Christmas eve, so everyone will have to wait for their presents, because I really need my money for other purposes at the moment...I only get £30 a week, so I have to be careful that I don't spend too much, and that's difficult sometimes, because I have to eat & have something to drink!

So, lyrics for the day:
This is my Earth/And I live in it/It’s one third dirt/And two thirds water/And it rotates and revolves through space/At rather an impressive pace/And never even messes up my hair/And here’s the really weird thing/The force created by its spin/Is the force that stops the chaos flooding in

Not funny or clever, but a bit thoughtful & beautiful.

If anyone cares to explain the electron configuration of Francium to me, please do! Alex x

Love is nothing to do with destined perfection, the connection, the affection simply grows over time...like a banana

This is a song for Phil Daoust, occasional Guardian newspaper journal-aoust...
When it's a variation between that (^) and You grew on me/like a tumour/and you spread through me like malignant melanoma, concentration is not the easiest task.
So...The good news? I got a merit for a piece of coursework I thought wouldn't even see a pass. It was Biology. The subject that has interesting stuff, but the subject that we've probably only seen the tutor for five times. And what's even more shocking? I still don't think I understand biological taxonomy! I just want to get on to the Human Physiology stuff...
And the bad news? I got a pass for a piece of coursework I thought would get a merit on. It was physics. It has to be said though, in all fairness, it's the subject I understand the least. But I thought I'd at least grabbed the concept enough to get the assignment up to a good grade :|
Energy Cycles...Well, I did accidentally do two examples that were the same as each other. I just didn't realise whilst I was writing, that when coal is burnt, it's a fossil fuel, so a Fossil Fuel Power Plant is the same as a Coal-Burning Power Plant. Still, I don't think I could have done anything else, because I couldn't find an example for a TV. I was embarrassed to say the least, when he handed my coursework back and said it was the same thing. I could've died.

The trip has been cancelled!!! We were supposed to be visiting some mill tomorrow, but the college doesn't have the funding to let us go. Which is definitely a good thing. It's cold & wet at this time of year. I'm not getting lost somewhere that I am not familiar with.

So...And love is made more real by the ongoing drama of shared experience/And the synergy of a kind of symbiotic empathy/Or...something/So I trust it goes without saying that I would feel really very sad/If tomorrow you were to fall off something high/Or catch something bad/But I'm just saying/I don't think you're special/I mean...I mean I think you're special/but you fall within a bell curve/I mean...I'm just saying/(I really think that I would, have somebody else)/Yeah...

Meh. I'm off to the gym now, Alex x
